It is important to note though, the gaming business is more than what you see on the gaming floor. Salaries may vary by establishment and area. Bureau of Labor Statistics (BLS) data show that full-time gaming managers were paid a median annual salary of $46,820 in 1999. The lowest 10 percent earned less than $26,630, and the highest 10 % earned around $96,610.
Gaming supervisors take charge of gaming operations and workers in an assigned area. Circulating among the table games, they ensure that all stations and games are attended to for each shift. It also is accepted for supervisors to interpret the casino’s operating laws for members. Supervisors can also plan and arrange activities for guests staying in their casino hotels.
Gaming supervisors must have obvious leadership qualities and excellent communication skills. They need these skills both to supervise employees effectively and to greet patrons in order to establish return visits. Almost all casino supervisory staff have an associate or bachelor’s degree. Despite their educational background, however, most supervisors gain expertise in other gaming jobs before moving into supervisory positions because an understanding of games and casino operations is important for these staff.
